🌿 The Yielded Life: Learning to Walk in His Way

A Devotional Reflection by Leigh Foxcroft

📖 Scripture Focus
"He went out, not knowing where he was going."– Hebrews 11:8 (NKJV)

A Personal Reflection

There’s something humbling about the in-between. The space where the promise hasn’t yet manifested, but the instruction is clear: “Go.”
That’s exactly where I find myself.

As I steward the unfolding vision of UniqueLeigh Consulting, build out UniqueLeigh Beauty, and expand C4K in the UAE, I’m walking out faith in real-time. Not in theory. Not in comfort. But in dependence. And while I’ve grown accustomed to pushing through challenges, God is showing me something deeper—this isn’t a season to push… it’s a season to yield.

🧎‍♀️ Yielding Isn't Weakness—It's Wisdom

📖 "You are that one’s slaves whom you obey..."– Romans 6:16

One of the hardest truths I’ve had to accept is this: I have yielded to things that never had my best interest at heart.

I yielded to urgency.
I yielded to perfectionism.
I yielded to the fear of missing out, not realizing I was missing Him.

And here’s what I’m learning: yielding is not about loss—it’s about alignment. When I yield to Christ, I come under the authority of peace, clarity, and purpose. But when I yield to anything else—be it insecurity, comparison, or pressure—I become bound by it.

God is asking me daily, “Leigh, who has your ‘yes’?”

💡 When Jesus Feels Unfamiliar

📖 "They were afraid… and amazed."– Mark 10:32

There are days when following Jesus feels risky—not because He’s unsafe, but because He’s stretching me past what’s familiar. I used to think I knew exactly how He’d move. I’ve since learned… I don’t. And that’s okay.

There’s a sacred tension in this season—between the Jesus I once knew and the One who is now revealing Himself in deeper ways. He’s ahead of me. Focused. Intentional. And sometimes silent. But never absent.

It’s not that I’ve lost Him… I’m simply being invited to know Him more intimately than ever before.

🔥 Called to a Higher Standard

📖 "Perfecting holiness in the fear of God."– 2 Corinthians 7:1

I used to think holiness was about behavior. But God is showing me that it’s about belonging.
My body, my thoughts, my motives—they’re not mine to govern independently. They belong to the One who paid for them.

Sanctification isn’t reserved for the super-spiritual. It’s for businesswomen, mothers, and builders like me, who are learning to let God refine the small, hidden places:

  • The internal negotiations I make when no one’s watching
  • The thoughts I entertain when I’m stressed
  • The desires I chase that aren’t always in step with His timing

Holiness doesn’t mean I’m flawless—it means I’m His.

 🛤 Faith Isn't Flashy—It's Formational

📖 "Abraham believed God…"– Romans 4:3

It’s tempting to romanticize faith as this grand, dramatic gesture. But in truth, faith often looks like consistency in the quiet, and obedience when no one applauds.

The more I walk with God, the more I see faith as a rhythm, not a rescue plan. It’s waking up and choosing to trust Him even when:

  • The deal didn’t go through
  • The door stayed closed
  • The numbers don’t make sense
  • The outcome feels delayed

Faith isn’t passive. It’s active. It's not just believing for outcomes—it’s believing in the character of the One who leads me.

🎯 Refocusing on What Truly Matters

"We make it our aim… to be well pleasing to Him."
– 2 Corinthians 5:9

Success metrics can be loud—likes, numbers, client wins, visibility. But lately, I’ve been drawn back to a quieter measure:
Is God pleased with me?
Not just with what I do, but with who I’m becoming?

In the boardroom and the prayer room, I want to remain aware of His presence. I want my private surrender to outweigh my public image. I want the way I love people, make decisions, spend my time, and handle disappointments to reflect His heart.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about pursuit.

🌿 Where I See God Working

God is moving in ways that are more subtle than showy—but they are unmistakably supernatural:

  • In my inner life – healing mindsets, mending identity
  • In my decisions – teaching me how to wait, how to discern
  • In my pace – moving me from driven to dependent
  • In my business – removing the noise, refining the vision
  • In my spirit – deepening my awareness of His holiness and grace

I used to ask, “God, what’s next?”
Now I ask, “God, how do You want me to walk today?”

🛐 My Prayer of Surrender

Father, I confess that I’ve often rushed ahead, assuming I knew the path. But today, I choose to yield. Every outcome, every emotion, every desire—I place it under Your Lordship. I don’t want to build anything that You’re not in. Refine my motives. Redirect my focus. Cleanse my thoughts. Teach me to love Your will, even when it stretches me. I yield—not because I’m weak, but because I trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

✍️ My Declaration of Faith

  • I no longer need to have it all figured out
  • I yield to God’s pace, not people’s pressure
  • I trust Him in the unfamiliar
  • I pursue holiness, not hustle
  • I live for His smile, not the spotlight

I am not building alone—God is forming something eternal in me.
And He is faithful to finish what He started.

With yielded purpose,
